On the same day she was sentenced to 18 years in prison for sending ricin-laced letters to President Obama and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, ABC announced that infamous actress Shannon Guess Richardson has been selected to be the newest co-host on the daytime talk show, “The View.” According to “The View” creator Barbara Walters, the hiring of the former ‘The Walking Dead’ actress comes after an exhaustive search to find a woman who will fight with newly returning Rosie O’Donnell as intensely as Elizabeth Hasselback once did.
“I thought no one hated President Obama as much as Elizabeth Hasselback did, but then I heard about the ricin-laced letters Shannon sent,” Walters told Hollywood & Swine. “Even though she attempted to kill the President and the Mayor of New York, Shannon is still more liked by America than recently fired co-host Jenny McCarthy.”
Richardson, who sent the ricin-laced letters in an attempt to frame her husband, admitted joining ‘The View’ has always been a dream of hers and she even sent numerous letters to Barbara Walters over the years begging for a chance to audition. Fortunately for Walters, she never opened Richardson’s letters which probably would have killed the television legend since they too were laced with the deadly toxin.
To accommodate Richardson’s 18-year sentence in a federal prison, “The View” will relocate from its New York City studio to whatever penitentiary Richardson is sent in order to film daily .
“I think Shannon will be an excellent addition to ‘The View,'” said co-host Whoopi Goldberg. “After all, we’ve all made mistakes. If you don’t believe me, just go back and watch my films ‘Eddie’ and ‘The Associate.'”
