On the last night of the 45th annual Comic-Con, San Diego police were called to the scene after hundreds of attendees from a nearby Bully-Con crashed the event to harass the thousands of nerds in attendance. According to witnesses, several of the Bully-Con attendees actually ran into former classmates who they terrorized in high school at Comic-Con, which only escalated the situation.
“There’s nothing sadder to watch than to see a 45-year-old man dressed as Spiderman get a wedgie,” a witness told Hollywood & Swine. “The worst part was when the bullies took turns beating up the cast of ‘The Big Bang Theory.’”
This year marked the 25th anniversary of Bully-Con and featured special guest speaker William Zabka, who portrayed Johnny, the menacing bully in the 1984 film classic, “The Karate Kid.” Upon hearing that Comic-Con was being held at the nearby San Diego Convention Center, Zabka encouraged the frenzied crowd of hundreds of men dressed in replica Cobra Kai outfits to crash Comic-Con.
Fortunately for many of the Comic-Con victims, the cast and crew of FX’s hit drama “Sons of Anarchy” were in the middle of a panel to promote their final season when the chaos broke out. “Sons of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam along with series creator Kurt Sutter hurried to the nerds’ aid and helped run the bullies off.
