‘The Fluffy Movie’ On Track for $56 Million Opening Weekend; Analysts Credit Immigration Crisis

Open Road Films’ comedy concert film, “The Fluffy Movie,” starring comedian Gabriel Iglesias is on track to earn an estimated $56 million opening weekend despite only playing on 400 screens this Friday, according to the latest forecast from Hollywood boxoffice tracking insiders. Hollywood analysts credit the escalating immigration crisis along the border of the United States for remarkable growth in popularity of “The Fluffy Movie.”

“Gabriel Iglesias is extremely popular in Mexico and everywhere in Central and South America, and just yesterday alone another 18,000 of his fans entered the United States so they could be the first to see ‘The Fluffy Movie’ when it opens on July 25th,” a spokesperson for Open Road Films told Hollywood & Swine. “If the immigration crisis stays on its current course, ‘The Fluffy Movie’ has a legitimate shot of breaking ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’s’ opening weekend record set earlier this month.”
